DESCRIPTION

The Polakow is Quatro’s fastest, most drive-oriented and turn-capable thruster to date — a board Keith Teboul calls “the fastest, driviest, turniest board yet” and “the best Thruster I have ever used.” Designed to sail with the same fast-and-loose attitude as Jason Polakow, it delivers pro-level performance while staying flattering and easy to ride in real-world conditions. Slightly longer than the Pyramid and just under a centimeter narrower, it features less overall rocker. The stance area is nearly 2 cm narrower for improved control at high speeds. A single‑to‑double‑to‑V bottom creates more rail curve than the Pyramid, keeping the board incredibly turny while the flatter rocker boosts drive and straight‑line speed. It’s the flattest rocker ever used on a Quatro thruster, resulting in a crisp, highly responsive, and exceptionally slippery feel underfoot. The Haiku Package reduces the weight between 250 to 500 grams, depending on model and size. By the use of lightweight components and materials this reduction is achieved over the already imposing specs of a Pro Carbon construction. Directly reflecting our highest-level custom boards, as built in our development center in Haiku, Maui, Hawaii, home to our custom factory, engineering headquarters, and skunkworks alike. This ultimate premium upgrade takes the same shape, honed over generations, and transforms it into a performance-driven masterpiece, infused with competition DNA. Backed by an abundance of world titles since 1994. The Haiku Package is the exact construction our team riders ask for. This is the closest you can get to a custom competition board as used by Marcilio, Antoine, Takara, Kai, Javier, Keith, and Francisco.

In detail, the Haiku Package consists of the following features:

• Carbon. A full cutting-edge carbon schedule, deck and bottom, combining uni-directional, biaxial, and 0/90 carbon laminates, allows precise control of flex and strength—creating the cleanest, most responsive build with zero excess material. Faster acceleration, crisper rail engagement with more direct connection to the water.
• Materials. Fewer layers of stronger, more premium lightweight materials, deliver the flex, refine the torsional stiffness and eliminate the need for excess reinforcements, while maintaining compressive strength and giving an instant response to rider input exactly as needed. Higher Flotation leads to faster acceleration. Easier control in the air, faster rotations, and softer landings. Durable enough for the most dedicated and experienced riders. Not recommended for rental centers.
• Finish. The finishing process is refined, shorter mast box, trimmed pads, and reduced paint with color integrated directly into the construction for a lighter, cleaner, more durable finish. Everything is simplified for connection and response.
• Stiffness. Reduced weight and increased torsional stiffness deliver faster reflex. A refined flex profile enhances responsiveness through turns while maintaining control at speed. Wave & Freewave.

When in doubt, riding a slightly bigger board with a smaller sail will almost always feel better and more comfortable than a smaller board with a bigger sail. That said, the best feeling comes when you find the perfect match. Use the guidelines below to help choose the right volume for your Wave or Freewave board. These recommendations are based on rider body weight in kilograms. Add 2 to 4 extra liters if you regularly sail in onshore conditions.

Wind Conditions + Skill Level = Recommended Volume:

High Wind + Intermediate = 4 to 8 liters above body weight High Wind + Advanced = 0 to 4 liters above body weight Medium Wind + Intermediate = 8 to 12 liters above body weight Medium Wind + Advanced = 4 to 8 liters above body weight Float & Ride + Intermediate = 12 to 16 liters above body weight Float & Ride + Advanced = 8 to 12 liters above body weight Example: An 80 kg advanced rider in high wind would typically look at an 80–84 liter board. In onshore conditions, they should consider adding 2–4 liters (82–86 L range).
