POW² in the Gorge: What Flysurfer Actually Changed (And Why It Matters Here)
We’ve been flying the original POW since the day the first box landed at Big Winds, and it earned its spot in the truck for one reason: wind range. Nothing else pulled you out of a lull and still felt calm when the west wind came on for real. So when Flysurfer said there was a v2, our first question was the usual one — is it better, or is it just new?
Short answer: it’s the same wing where it counts, and better where the original made you work.
The bridle got simpler. Flysurfer pulled the pulley out and re-worked every line so the wing gathers in one movement. If you’ve ever tried to stow the v1 in choppy/messy conditions with a foil under you, you know why that matters. The lines are now coated, fluorescent, and color-coded, so sorting a tangle on the water takes seconds instead of a session.
The handle got shorter. The 42 cm bar on the original was the most common gripe we heard. The new carbon J-handle is compact, sits at a natural wrist angle, and is a lot easier to pull out and put away one-handed.
More depower. The extended handle range means you can sheet out further in gusts and hold a higher line upwind. Great option for park and play, no shuttle required.
A real size curve. Five sizes instead of four, with a 2.3 and a 3.0 filling the gap that are our best sellers in the Gorge…Nuking day at the Rufus? 1.7m.
What didn’t change: it’s still a single-skin, still stupid light, still the widest wind range in the category, and it still has that low-end grunt that gets you up on foil first.

WIND RANGE
The wind range chart is to be used as a point of reference. It is based on a rider who weighs around 75kg (165lbs). Actual use will vary depending on your weight, skill level, board size/type and wind conditions on water or land. When choosing a parawing size, always use common sense and repeatedly choose a smaller size if you are not sure, especially when using the kite on land.
