Wetsuit: Prolimit Oxygen Freezip 5/3

Water Temp During Test: 48F

“This suit is a slam dunk! It’s warm, easy to get into AND out of, stretchy, and comfy out on the water. The Oxygen has thermal rebound technology inserted between the neoprene and high pile insulation (think space blanket), so I felt zero wind cutting through the suit. I have Raynaud’s and have issues with warmth in my extremities, but this wetsuit was so toasty that I didn’t even wear neoprene gloves despite the chilly water temps!

The freezip entry combined with the fantastic stretch of the Heather light 550+ neoprene made this the easiest 5/3 wetsuit I’ve ever gotten into. The freezip comes completely undone so you can get the maximum stretch in both shoulders when climbing in and out. I did have trouble lining the zipper car up the first time, but I found out a minute later that I had the zipper car on the wrong side of the freezip, whoops! Since then, I can zip by feel and have had no issues.”

Wetsuit: Prolimit Mercury FreeX 4/3

Water Temp During Test: 49F

“The ProLimit Mercury wetsuits are absolutely amazing…think Technobutter stretchy, with the ease of entry/exit of a wind specific more relaxed fitting suit!  The Thermal Rebound insulation adds warmth without thickness, making this 4/3 as warm as a 4/3+, essentially trapping the heat inside, and not allowing the wind to penetrate from the outside.  The fluid welded seams keep the wetsuit water tight in critical areas, creating a semi-dry feel inside even when submerged.  The suit drys fast, but more so than anything, it’s so easy to get over the hands and feet!  I’m a big fan of the front zip as it allow for maximum stretch in the back, with no velcro to pill up the outer jersey material.  If you haven’t tried a new ProLimit it’s time to check one out…I was blown away and have always been very picky on the wetsuits I’ve used over the years!”
