WHY SO LONG OF WAIT FOR THE GOYA NITRO 3?

Marcelio Browne: I didn’t want other competitors to have it, hahah (joking). No, seriously, this new shape demanded the most prototypes. Early on, the shapes were fast, but hard to ride, especially for front side wave riding. Our goal was incredible low-end that would get me out and upwind no matter what. So once we got the first part, the mobility and speed, our focus turned to getting a wavy feel. That’s when I took them to Ho’okipa on the smaller days. This is what took the most time.

WHO BENEFITS MOST FROM THE GOYA NITRO 3?

MB: Those who want to make make terrible conditions fun to ride. A board that maximizes what I can do on a 12-minute heat with small waves and light winds is a board many people can benefit from. The Nitro 3 is fast in a straight line, but also quick to plane in the middle of a beach break full of current. It keeps speed while bottom turning on weak waves, and carries flow to get good turns. The Nitro 3 keeps riders motivated to stay out there in less than average conditions.

NITRO 3 EXPLOSION?

MB: The Goya Nitro 3 has the best planing power and speed than any other board I’ve ever ridden. I love them on the waves. Recently on Maui, conditions were just terrible. They didn’t motivate anybody to go sailing, except me. I stayed out for hours, barely planning on my 5.3 on below waist-high waves side-onshore having the time of my life. All those days that people were were looking into wings and foils – windsurfing was exploding for me. I just wanted to stay out longer and keep progressing.
