Banzai Max 2 Pro
Our Fastest Wave Sail.
Banzai Max 2 Pro is the ultimate maximum-speed, range, and control wave sail in the Banzai range.
A stable, fast, powerful, and composed sail built for riders demanding the highest top-end speed, drive, and control through gusts, overpowering wind, and changing conditions, the 5-batten platform delivers a calm, centered pull with exceptional stability.
Best for powered sailing, variable/gusting winds, heavier riders, and sailors who want fewer sail changes with greater control across a wider usable wind range. Built for stability, speed, and drive with extended range.
Power when needed. Control when it matters.
Defi Wind, WWT, and PWA World Cup approved.
DESCRIPTION
The 5-batten layout increases overall stability while refined twist, lowered draft positioning, and a lower clew improve balance and top-end composure. Compared to the Banzai 12 and Surf 2, the Max 2 carries its lift slightly higher and more centered, promoting an upright, neutral stance with strong drive and controlled power delivery. Larger sizes feature a more circular leech outline to maintain compact handling and lighter rotational feel throughout the range. Banzai Max 2 stays locked in and composed when the wind spikes, while remaining responsive and maneuverable when the surf lines up.
CONSTRUCTION
Pro construction delivers high-end performance, excellent durability, and reduced weight. Custom X-Ply body laminates create a crisp, reactive feel with strong long-term stability, while the Bi-Ply window improves flex and reduces creasing. Choose Pro for the lightest balance of performance, feel, durability, and value. Body Panels. The new X-Ply body panels increase stability, precision, quickness, and long-term durability throughout the entire Banzai range. Refined panel layout and material orientation improve energy transfer and reflex response, creating a cleaner and more immediate connection between wind, sail, and rider. The result is improved reflex, cleaner energy transfer, and a more composed feel through gusts, transitions, and extended use. X-Ply also effectively prevents tears from traveling. Material selection and load distribution are engineered not only for performance, but for maintaining that performance over extended use. Durability is built into the structure, not added as an afterthought—through X-Ply body panels, reinforced foot materials, protected seams, and carefully controlled load paths. The goal is long-term confidence in handling, structure, and consistent performance across demanding conditions and extended use. Foot Panels. Mega Thread X-Ply foot panels utilize a dense network of X-Ply yarns and a durable 6-mil laminate film to increase structural stability, resist deformation, and provide exceptional puncture resistance. Window Panels. 6-mil Bi-Ply from Dimension-Polyant uses dual PET film layers for improved flex, a softer feel, and reduced creasing.
HIGHLIGHTS
Feeling.
Speed.
Agility.
The sail remains balanced and reactive while preserving smooth control through gusts and high-speed transitions.

Outline
The Banzai Max 2 shares the same outline as the Banzai 12, which features a larger foot outline and a lower clew, keeping the sail anchored around the rider for increased control and stability. A reduced head outline lightens the sail in the hands, enhancing its neutral, effortless feel through every turn. The 5-batten layout increases the overall stability of the sail, especially in demanding conditions.

Stretch Control
Radial Stretch Control significantly increases sail stability and range by keeping the lower section full and powerful, the mid-section locked and stable, and the upper section free to twist efficiently. The result is a sail that feels exceptionally light in the hands, balanced, and comfortable across a wide wind range. Radial Stretch Control tendons minimize stretch, distribute loads efficiently, and allow for the lightest and most effective reinforcement layout possible.

CNC Battens
Lightweight, CAD shaped, CNC machined, ultra durable, custom thickness and tailored taper battens. Adding structural perfection to the material sophistication of our film panels.

Circular Leech
The Circular Leech Outline concept delivers additional power, especially in the larger sizes where efficient drive is critical. Increased chord length through the midsection creates more usable power while avoiding excessive boom length, head size, or foot area. The result is a sail that combines strong low-end performance and range with a lighter, smaller feel in the hands during powered sailing and maneuvers.

DETAILS
The details are not the details. They make the design.
Ripstop Mast Sleeve.
Our proprietary custom mast sleeve material features ultra-strong horizontal ripstop fibers that help prevent tears from spreading in the event of a mast breakage. This helps protect the sail, reduces damage, and increases the likelihood of the sail remaining repairable and usable. The sleeve is double stitched to the sail, creating an exceptionally strong connection and enhancing overall durability.
Tack Fairing.
Molded and stitched, this ultra-durable tack fairing offers protection for your board and feet, aerodynamics around your extension, and a place to store your downhaul rope. Made from abrasion-resistant textile, it even protects itself.
Folded Sleeve Edge.
Along the rear edges of the mast sleeve, preventing fraying and premature wear and tear.
Sleeve Opener.
At the top of the boom cut out. Makes sliding the mast into the sleeve that much more quick and easy.
Anti-Chafe Batten Ends.
Protecting the batten pocket leech ends of your sail when rigging on rough surfaces.
Tack Stitch Protection.
Safeguarding the tack area of your sail against stitch breaking from rough board textures.
Hanging Loop.
Lets you hang your sail to dry, or tie a rope, or stick a screwdriver to pull the mast when derigging.
Soft Foot Piping.
Protecting your shins during tweaked maneuvers on wave sails, and your sail against the board deck on flatwater sails.
6:1 Stainless Pulley.
Using all three rolls for an optimized power ratio.
USA Made Films.
All films on all Goya Windsurfing sails are made by Dimension-Polyant in the USA to our rigerous quality standards.
