All SILVER booms are made from 7075 high-tech aluminium in high-quality BONDED TECHNOLOGY. This material used predominantly in cycling gives the tubes significantly more stiffness. There is also the new combination of a round tube in the front area (holding forces act obliquely downwards, so it is stiffer around here) and the OVAL TAIL SECTION (horizontal sail pull, thus the oval tube is stiffer here). This makes the entire SILVER around 30% stiffer. Together with the hardened front arch, this results in enormous hardness and durability. We are even prepared to offer a two-year unlimited warranty on all SILVER models – even for bending! The wave-oriented SILVER models consist of three segments and have a one-piece aluminium rear arch in addition to the intelligent iFRONT 2.0 front end.

Together with the RDM tubes at 28 mm, this creates the ideal combination of stiffness and comfort. The bend curve applies an even pull on the mast- and backhand. The lengths 180 and 200 cm with performance bend curve are specifically for freeride sails and a 30 mm tube diameter to ensure maximum stiffness. The solid PROTECTION GRIP coating on the outside effectively prevents damage to the coating when rigging up. NEW: the entire SILVER line is equipped with the brand-new VTS TAIL fitting. In combination with the 2022 Duotone sails, the VTS TAIL fitting offers for the first time a clear visual indication for the perfect outhaul tension (patent pending).

OVAL TAIL SECTION

The tail section has similar influence on overall boom stiffness as the front section. Unlike the front, 90% of the forces on the tail occur laterally as the main force comes from the sail pulling sideways. With forces only occurring in one direction, the most effective geometry is an asymmetrical oval cross section horizontally oriented. This makes the entire SILVER boom approximately 30% stiffer!

IFRONT 2.0

Vertical Stiffness “A”: We use 50% longer axle-bolts, directly connected to the side walls. This maximizes vertical/torsional stiffness, which results in a very direct connection/transmission of boom to mast.

Horizontal Flexibility “B”: The partially recessed center of the collar gives the iFront 2.0 a hinge like function, so the collar fits to any mast diameter without any gap. This results in a very smooth and slip resistant connection.

VTS TAIL

With the introduction of the VTS TAIL we have finally made the correct outhaul tension visible as well. Due to the integrated visual indicator and rope markings now you can have perfect outhaul trim every session.
