Armstrong Board Shim
$24.99 – $44.99Price range: $24.99 through $44.99
The Armstrong Board Shim is the quickest way to change the feel of your foil without changing a single wing. It sits between your mast and board and tilts the whole foil, changing the mast angle relative to the board.
- Thick end toward the tail: more front wing angle for more lift and an earlier takeoff. Good for pumping, light wind and downwinding.
- Thick end toward the nose: less front wing angle for less lift and more control at speed. Good for high wind, towing and powerful waves.
Choose your angle
Available in 0.5°, 1° and 2°. Start small; 0.5° is often all you need. Keep in mind that Armstrong already builds angle into its Performance masts (0.5° on the 725/795, 1.0° on the 865/935), while the Carbon MKII is 0°.
With or without hardware
The “With hardware” option includes longer mast top screws. Armstrong recommends longer screws on the elevated (thick) end for a safe setup.
