From Sam at Big Winds:
The Lift Foils 90 High Aspect is a fantastic foil and quickly becoming a must have in your Lift Foils quiver. The 90HA has an amazing amount of range for a foil its size, similarly to the other Lift High Aspect Foils, the 90 is (relative to its size) a forgiving foil and a great foil for the Advanced rider!
It is amazing how this foil is so fast rail to rail, its turning is wild! This can be attributed to how quickly it releases from a turn and how fast it engages into another turn, when most HA’s get stuck, this one does not. It is easy to find yourself being over stoked from how many hacks you can get in a single swell or wave on this foil. In the right conditions the Lift 90HA is truly blissful!
This foil isn’t just for the “Pros” of the world. It is a foil for the advanced rider however it does have a good ease of use for a foil of its size and aspect ratio! Featuring a low stall speed at only 580cms makes this particular foil a bit of a unicorn.

From Lift:
The Lift Foils 90 High Aspect Front Wing was designed specifically for performance and speed. With an aspect ratio of 11.0, it’s the highest in the fleet, but because it’s a relatively small wing, the wingspan is still within that of our Surf Series. So what does that mean for the riding experience? The 90 High Aspect Front Wing is impressively efficient for such a small size. With its comfortable wingspan, one can make aggressive turns and maneuvers on the waves while staying fully in control. What’s also really interesting about this wing is, due to its higher aspect ratio and small size, you can breach the surface of the water and regain control in an instant. That means more aggressive carving with wing tips outside the water and some new air time on your surf gear. If you’re looking for more glide and carry while still keeping serious speed, take a look at our 120 High Aspect Front Wing. The 90 High Aspect Front Wing comes with our premium wing bag, for protection and easy transport. Back wings sold separately.
Lift Foils 90 High Aspect Specs:
- Aspect Ratio: 11.0
- Surface Area: 90 in2 / 581 cm2
- Wingspan: 31.5″

The HA 90 is my favorite wing in the waves. It pumps like a 150 surf but is faster and arguably looser. It gets you over double ups that pop up in front of you way better than a 100, and unlike the 100 when the wave flattens out you can glide and pump out to the next one with a little extra effort. It’s my favorite for tow and wing waves, and if I was in better shape I’d prone it. Works best with a long fuse (if your trying to squeeze out glide and stabilize pitch). For light weight advanced riders who just want to shred this might be the only wing you need. For heavier riders this is your tow, high wind, go nuts wing. If Lift would make a 150HA I’d have the 90HA and 150HA and be set. This thing is spicy as hell!

After spending a full winter in La Ventana on my 120 HA, I found myself wanting to get just that extra click of speed as I was noticing that some waves I couldn’t quite keep up with particularly larger ocean so I was like what I experienced in Santa Barbara at Ledbetter. Switching to the 90 HA unlocked that ability to absolutely keep up with any and all surf that I’ve encountered so far both on the Columbia river, and in the sea, I love the fact that it has a less wide wingspan as I felt the width of the 120 transferred some of the wave turbulence you might experience on really windy days when the sea state gets kind of confused having an narrower wingspan on the 90 definitely cut down on the amount of leverage that the foil has over the board and also allows me to heal harder without breaching the tips of the wing.
At this point, I’m not using my 120. I only ride the 90 I can use it in all conditions and I experiment with a few different tails such as the 26 carve and the 25 glide as well as the fuse extender to just create different sensations in the way, that foil turns, and how much stability there is in the pitch.
The Lift 90 H a is an absolute weapon, and I couldn’t be more stoked with. That said it will put your balance to the test and it feels like you have to relearn your foot work to be even more precise, but all attainable within a relatively short period of time.

I use the HA90 for winging and it is the fastest foil i’ve used so far. I have it paired with a 25 glide v2 and it’s been a game-changer in heavier wind. Very fast & very responsive!
In light wind it takes more work to pop up on foil but overall highly recommend for the speed and glide capabilities.
