Appletree Applino Advanced Strapless Kiteboard
The Applino V2 is designed to match Paulino Pereira’s style of strapless kitesurfing as much as possible. Explosive and powerful, yet stylish and smooth. Best for kiting in the waves or performing strapless freestyle tricks in flat water. It’s Paulino’s go-to board, a reliable partner in all conditions. It’s the ultimate advanced allround strapless kiteboard. For the V2 version we have worked extensively with Paulino to improve on an already amazing design. Perhaps the most distinctive feature of the Applino V2 is that it is so lively and snappy. Some riders may experience this as somewhat nervous, but for those who like a loose and snappy board, this is exactly what makes the Applino so popular!
Board features
Centre channel
The first change we made is that we added a single centre channel on the bottom of the board, right between the feet. This increases the board upwind ability by reducing the rocker in the middle of the board. Making the board a bit more user friendly. When carving, the board follows the rail line which still has quite a bit of rocker, to allow for tight turns in the pocket.
Double grab rails
Another unique feature is the double grab rail. The Applino V2 now has grab rails on both the deck AND the bottom of the board. This gives an even better grip when doing board-off freestyle tricks.
Outline and rocker
The rocker is moderate to high. With a single concave running into a V behind the front fins. All there to make the board loose and snappy while maintaining control. The Applino V2 is thin throughout with a slightly wider outline compared to a more traditional Klokhouse Noseless. This makes the rail bite a bit more so you can really put pressure on the board when initiating a jump. The wider front gives you an easier landing area.
Kick in the tail
The added kick in the tail helps loosen up the board and it also helps when landing reverse.
Fin setup
The Applino V2 comes with a thruster fin setup. We advise combining the Applino V2 with a Pivot style thruster fin. For a bit of extra playfulness, you can choose a smaller middle fin in your thruster.
CUSTOM CONSTRUCTION
50K CLOSED CELL FOAM
Every board we make starts with a foam core of our very own 50K closed cell foam. This foam is formalized exclusively for us, it is not used in any other board in the market.
The foam can withstand 50.000 kg per square meter, while staying very light, and most of all very flexible. Another plus of our 50K foam is that it is closed cell, meaning that the foam will not take in water. And the board will not blow out when it gets hot.
HEX-SKIN CARBON
Hex-skin Carbon is similar in composition to the Hex-skin Glass boards. But instead of glass we use 100% carbon fibre, there is no glass hidden underneath the top layer of carbon. Using carbon makes the board lighter and it makes it stick to your feet even better. Because the board is so light, it flows over the chops a lot better than you might expect.
To give the carbon boards their unique look the deck is finished with a tinted resin, that can be customized. Pick your own colour or mix multiple for a truly one-of-a kind board.
STRENGTH OPTIONS HEX-SKIN CARBON
CF- Ultralight
The lightest possible kite board. If you are after the lightest possible kiteboard construction, this is the way to go! Slight heel dents may appear over time, depending on rider’s weight and foot pressure, but the boards are ultra strong. Not really recommended for 100% free- style, but the occasional jump is not a problem at all.
CF+
Our standard custom carbon construction, pictured above. Suits most riders for wave and freestyle and offers the right balance between weight, strength and flex. This board will last you a very long time. And in carbon fibre it is light and looks the part too!

It can take 48 hours for tracking info to display. Rest assured, your package is en route. Make sure to enter the BOL # (Bill of Lading) with no spaces in the tracking field.

Yes, we have shipped to these locations for decades by quote. Please share your address, the item(s) you needed shipped, and if an airport cargo depot pickup is possible.
Canada and International Locations?
We ship to Canada lots, and the Caribbean some. Get a quote. We rarely ship items to Europe, Asia, and Australia as it's spendy. Quotes for international orders do not include import duties.
How Can I Be Sure My Board Arrives Intact?

What if My Board Arrives Damaged?
We'll work with our shipping partner to get you a repair credit or a replacement board. Please send photos of the damaged board (and box) to shipping@bigwinds.com.

But no foot straps, fins, or vent plug?
Look closely through the packaging. Fins, foot straps and vent plugs are often concealed in a sheath of cardboard that's easy to discard. Also, check inside the board box, and shake the box to be sure. You'll likely dislodge a small box containing the missing items.

We'll work with freight partners for the lowest possible rate. Delivery time is 7-10 business days. Quotes typically land in the $350 - $500 range, though Big Winds will often cover a portion of this fee. Get a quote.
International Board Delivery
Board shipping rates for most international destinations are extremely pricey. But we can ship boards to Canada for as low as $275 plus duties and taxes. We can also stow your board for an upcoming Gorge visit, and help with a board bag and packing materials to ensure it flies home with you safely.
