No matter if you’re riding waves at Ho’okipa, windsurfing the big wind swells at The Wall, busting big, tweaked freestyle tricks or high-wind foiling – the Revolution delivers smooth, reliable power, and is always in control.
Extensive use of Sailworks’ new XDL² scrim sailcloth adds a magical suppleness to the Revolution’s trusted stable feel, increasing both the sail’s range and forgiveness. Considerable testing and fine balancing of the high wind Revos into lower aspect ratio plane shapes, brings the smoothest ride on the gnarliest of days. Now starting with small 2.5m² sail sizes in a 4-batten layout, and from 3.5m² in the familiar 5-batten layout.
The Revolution carries the well-earned title as our legacy wave/freestyle windsurf sail – and now coveted for highwind foiling too. Stable, maneuverable and versatile are the hallmarks of the Revo’s refined pedigree.
BIG WINDS REVIEW
We like the Revo for never having to re-rig. Here’s co-owner and former WindSurfing magazine test editor Eddy Patricelli’s take: “A 4.5 in 35 mph winds — I hung on. A 5.0 in 13-20 mph — I planed throughout. From a tractor-like pull, to a soft, supple power sensation, the Revos’ tune-able power profile has kept me sailing, and smiling. I can share these sails with my wife without either of us feeling compromised. A big deal. I also welcome drag races riding the Revos. I can’t say the same for other wave sails. Coast through lulls, loft higher jumps, blast upwind — the Revo’s slippery nature opens big doors. It’s a wave sail line that hasn’t lost sight of the bump and jump sailing most of us do. They’re speedy, powerful, and exciting to ride. That’s a great foundation for any session, waves or not.”
