2020 DUOTONE MONO KITE REVIEW
The Duotone Mono kiteboarding kite has been completely redesigned for 2020. The single strut remains but lighter materials and improved design characteristics truly distinguish the new Mono from its predecessor.
One thing we learned - This kite will fly in winds that would cause most other kites to fall out of the sky. That same feature gives it incredible low end power that's perfect for foiling, or for simply using a smaller kite with your directional or freeride board. We tested the 7 meter Mono in light 10-15 mph winds and, after watching the video review, we think you'll agree that it's pretty impressive.
Duotone says it's a do all kite that's light, forgiving, and easy to handle. And they claim the Mono the best one strut kite on the market. They may be right...
What We Like:
- SUPER STABLE
- SUPERB HANDLING CHARACTERISTICS
- EXTREMELY POWERFUL LOW END
- DID WE MENTION SUPER STABLE?
What We Don't Like:
- The fact that you'll only need two or three of these kites in your quiver!
Who's It For?
Bottom line: if you're a dedicated foiler you'll love it. But the kite is so versatile, it would also make a perfect travel kite, or a great option for switching between foil and directional boards. The inherent stability, and the ability to use a smaller kite also makes it a solid choice for beginners.
